Footer Scroll Reveal

I believe first occurrences of a footer that lies beneath the main content and thus is revealed from under it when scrolled to the bottom of a page arose sometime in 2016. Thinking about remodeling our footer I recently I came across a couple of webpages where the footer was crafted in this way I really like the "curtain" effect.

I searched in the Webflow Showcase section and in the forums to only find that people used to have some problems with it. One demo I found was cool but wasn't working flawlessly (upon scrolling back up occasional flickering occurred). So I searched further and found a clean and easy solution from Chris Coyier from March 2020 and recreated his demo here in Webflow.

It seems that earlier solutions involved using magic numbers but the solution from March doesn't. Chris sums it like this:

Here’s the trick

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
